Check more than availability

Search Companies House where relevant, look for similar trading names and check trade marks, domains and social handles. Being allowed to register a company name does not automatically give you every right to use it.

Make it usable

Test spelling, pronunciation and how it looks on an invoice. Avoid a name that traps the business in one product or town unless that limitation is deliberate.
